The Best of All Outcomes

Last night the mighty A.M.P.C. (Aquamarine Plastic Cups, of course. Not sure where the "M" comes from though, now that I look at it written down. Hmm...) played the dirtiest team in what's a pretty darn dirty indoor soccer division - "Jap V8s Suck". The name really says it all. Really. This is the team that only one ref in the entire sports centre will still ref, one of those annoying teams who take out the opposition, then start yelling "What? How bout a little consistency ref?" while their opposition is lying on the ground wondering what just hit them. (Last night that particular opposition was me.)

This is also the team who we beat 5-3, and who then stormed off the court with four minutes to go declaring that they'd never return. This happened after the ref started sending them off one after the other for either (a) infringing with the use of a dropped shoulder, or (b) declaring that said ref was a "fuckhead" and "not consistent" or similar. Although as Adam pointed out, the ref was being consistent: they consistently fouled, and he consistently sent them off...

So in short: We won, They won't return, and Dave can rest easy, knowing that his ankle is now safe from roving gangs of "Jap V8" haters.

Christmas and New Year's happened, and they were good. Apologies if any of you out there were caught in my drunken, CD Nazi rant on New Year's Eve (how hard is it to work the playlist, I mean really :) The show approaches fast, and everything is going swimmingly, bar the money side of things... so you must all come, and bring your family, your friends, those aunts and uncles who really aren't related but have always kind of just hung out with the family, your dentist, that person who walks the dog past your gate at 5:25 each day... you get the picture. In actual fact, the show is sounding fantastic, and we've almost even got a plant. Almost.

Speaking of things theatrical, if you happen to be around city mall during lunch time, or at the Buskers Festival in the evening, watch out for Mel, Scott and Tim Taylor masked up and running around as "What the FOU". A select few were treated to an advance screening last night, and they really are very good...
