Another week

Friday ended up rocking most mightily. Thanks to all who came by Holly Road for the hastily organised party, to those who headed into Sammy's, and then onwards to Home and Carbon. In the end a small group of us (including, strangely enough, the trombonist from the band at Sammy's) made it through till 5.30 in the morning. Late night, drunken, and good. Special thanks to Dave on account of his help at texting all in sundry to get their selves and others to the various venues. (An aside: between Friday 5 pm and Sunday evenming, I managed to send 55 text messages. That's just silly.)

Saturday saw a distinct lack of hangover, although generally high levels of exhaustion and a lack of any desire to really do anything. Many of us ended up at Simon's, watching rugby and playing Game of Thrones - in a game that was called off at an early morning hour with Ben declared the winner. Of course, Ben had just received one of the biggest smackdowns that has been witnessed in the game... For those of you who care, I believe the six player expansion for the game comes out sometime this week or next, with many improvements. Should be good.

Sunday saw the mighty Putteridge High brought low once again, with a 9-4 loss to Von Zippers. But, and this I only noticed last week, we're actually playing in division 1 at the moment, which explains the generally poor results of late. Also, we're becoming more leet each time we play, and even though the scoreline looks like a drubbing, we put up a pretty good fight (bar a brief five minute period, with five unanswered goals scored against us...)

Speaking of Dave, he has put me onto the musical stylings of Damian Rice and Elliot Smith. I haven't really listened to the latter very much, but am definitely enjoying Damian Rice's songs. Highly recommended.
